Job description

AR Collections Analyst

Location: Bay Area, CA-Union City (Please Note: due to client confidentiality, the exact client location will be disclosed to shortlisted candidates.) The position is core hours, onsite, 5-days per week in office. Local candidates within commutable distance of Bay Area-Union City are encouraged to apply.


Compensation: $30-36/hr W2, 6+ month contract position.


Contract Start Date: Immediate.


Position Type: Contract, Duration: Initial 6 months, with potential for extension and conversion (contract to hire)


  • Vaco is conducting a confidential search for an AR Collections Analyst to manage critical financial processes for an industry-leading organization in the consumer goods sector.
  • This client is renowned for delivering high-quality products across North America. Exact details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
  • This onsite role is based in the Greater Bay Area, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule during standard business hours. It is an immediate contract opportunity, initially set for six months with potential for extension.

About the Role

As an AR Collections Analyst, your primary focus will be on collections and deductions, utilizing SAP and advanced Excel skills to manage and improve the accounts receivable process. The role requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive candidate capable of resolving disputes and supporting financial operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and streamline accounts receivable operations for U.S. and Canadian business units, focusing on collections.
  • Investigate and reconcile disputes by analyzing customer documentation from portals, emails, or direct communication.
  • Reassign unresolved cases to appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Monitor overdue accounts and ensure timely collections through proactive communication with customers.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly AR status and collection reports.
  • Process credit memos and account adjustments accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve disputes and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Lead root cause analysis to identify process improvements, emphasizing automation and efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation, support training, and oversee departmental intranet updates.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing and resolving accounts receivable collections.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP for financial operations and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data manipulation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours during month-end close periods.
