Conifer Health is seeking a dedicated healthcare collections specialist in Frisco, TX to manage follow-up and billing activities with payers and patients, ensuring timely reimbursement.

Responsibilities include reviewing accounts, resolving aging balances, and documenting activities; the role follows a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule in a collaborative team environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1+ year of healthcare insurance collections experience.
• Strong AR follow-up experience.
• Experience with health insurance claim follow-up processes.

Responsibilities

• Handle follow-up and collections, including calls and payer website access.
• Identify issues and provide resolution suggestions.
• Document all collection activities accurately and thoroughly.
• Review account information to determine next work activity.
• Verify claims adjudication and contact patients to obtain needed information.
• Perform billing functions, including manual re-bills and electronic submissions.
• Edit claims to meet billing guidelines for submission.
• Maintain desk inventory, generate reports, and manage high-priority aged inventory.
• Attend meetings and training; participate in performance reviews.
• Respond to emails and voicemail promptly and escalate issues as needed.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for all aspects of follow up and collections, including making telephone calls, accessing payer websites.
• Identify issues or trending and provide suggestions for resolution.
• Accurately and thoroughly documents the pertinent collection activity performed.
• Review the account information and necessary system applications to determine the next appropriate work activity.
• Verify claims adjudication utilizing appropriate resources and applications. Initiate telephone or letter contact to patients to obtain additional information as needed.
• Perform appropriate billing functions, including manual re-bills as well as electronic submission to payers.
• Edit claims to meet and satisfy billing compliance guidelines for electronic submission.
• Manage and maintain desk inventory, complete reports, and resolve high priority and aged inventory.
• Participate and attend meetings, training seminars and in-services to develop job knowledge. Participate in the monthly, quarterly and annual performance evaluation process with their Supervisor.
• Respond timely to emails and telephone messages as appropriate.
• Communicate issues to management, including payer, system or escalated account issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/ Licensures/Qualifications

• 6mo- 1+ years of Healthcare Insurance Collections
• Must have strong AR follow up experience
• Follow Upservice is designed to increase Revenue Collection for Hospitals and Physician offices. The process begins after the Doctor’s biller creates and sends Health Insurance Claims (Electronic/ Paper claims or Manual HCFA forms) to various Insurance companies. Depending on the transmission type and length of time since submission we begin our follow-up:
