Job summary

LightGuide, Inc. is hiring for an on-site role in Wixom, MI, reporting to the Application Engineering Manager. You will create augmented reality experiences, configure and test equipment, and design system structures using CAD.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with 1–2 years in customer-facing roles and experience with SolidWorks and 3D printing. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
2+ years’ experience in any professional or service job preferred.
1+ years’ experience in customer-facing roles preferred.

Responsibilities

Create unique augmented reality experiences using LightGuide applied to a wide variety of real-world applications.
Set up, configure, and test equipment including PCs, PLCs, projectors, smart torque tools, motors, and other hardware.
Plan and design LightGuide system structures and other components using CAD software.
Design and prototype mounting components using 3D printing.
Work closely with all personnel including employees, customers, and suppliers in a constructive and team-based manner.
Prepare documentation and drawings for customers as required.
Package and ship hardware for installation projects.
Perform on-site system installation and service at customer locations.
Assist with miscellaneous office duties as required.
Continuously improve and optimize all processes related to the above work.
