Water Safety Instructor

• Minimum Certification: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
• Recommended Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED
• Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Job Type: Part-Time Position
• Job Hours: School year 3-5 hour shift – weekday evening hours & Saturdays, Monday through Thursday for Summer

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Aquatics Program Coordinator, a Water Safety Instructor will teach people of all ages using the "Learn to Swim" Program. The instructor must be an energetic, dedicated, and motivated individual who enjoys swimming and teaching children or adults.

Lifeguard

• Minimum Certification: American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED
• Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Job Type: Part-Time Position
• Job Hours: School year 3-5 hour shifts – weekday evening hours, Saturdays. Monday through Thursday for Summer
• Location: Valley View Middle School Pool

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Aquatics Program Coordinator, lifeguards will supervise the aquatic area to prevent accidents, assist swimmers, and keep the area and facilities clean. Lifeguards will create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere to give customers a sense of belonging. Lifeguards must be reliable, courteous, and ready to act.

Water Safety Aide

• Minimum Certification: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Aide Certification or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Recommended Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED
• Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Job Type: Part-Time Position
• Job Hours: School year 3-5 hour shifts – weekday evening hours & Saturdays. Monday through Thursday for Summer.
• Location: Valley View Middle School Pool
