Job summary

NYC Parks & Recreation seeks Swim Instructors for the Learn to Swim program this summer, offering both full-time scope in the summer and part-time flexibility with up to 21 hours per week across all five boroughs.

Instructors will teach tots to seniors, coach teams, supervise lap swim, and assist as Aquatic Directors at camps, with duties including data submission and program development.

Qualifications

• Experience facilitating aquatic programs and workshops.
• Ability to instruct diverse age groups including seniors and individuals with disabilities.
• Strong storytelling and coaching skills to motivate participants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct dynamic aquatic programs and workshops as part of the Learn to Swim initiative.
• Teach swim to tots, children, adults, seniors, and disabled participants; coach swim teams if needed.
• Develop programming to engage New Yorkers in aquatic activities and lead youth Aquatics programming.
