Job Position: Aquatic Specialist Reports To: General Manager, Assistant General Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary: Supports the quality and success of pool operations including the Deck Supervising staff, Golden Teachers and Swim Instructors, as well as the on-deck staff, maintenance of pool environment and interaction with students and parents/guardians. Maintains expert-level knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum and demonstrates thorough knowledge of GSS management policies and practices. Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides leadership, discipline and constructive feedback to Instructors and Deck Teachers to ensure quality delivery of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Provide insite to management on periodic evaluations of Instructors and Deck Teachers and holds them to a higher standard.

Interacts with parents/guardians to discuss student progress.

Acts as a GSS “ambassador” to ensure customer satisfaction.

Audits to potentially include Deck Supervisor Rosters, Deck Supervisor Notes, Training Logs, Pump Room Checklist, Cleaning Checklist and Visual Scheduler.

Acts as a substitute Instructor or Deck Teacher when necessary.

Contributes to monthly meetings with the Deck Supervisors and Management to go over items to address in workshops and in-services.

Assists Management in conducting workshops and in-service training.

Establishes a relationship with all new employees.

Assists in aquatic-based new hire training.

Floats in the water at least 1 shift a week to ensure quality standards are being met.

Works with the managers to establish training goals.

Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED is preferred. Two or more years as a swim instructor required. Experience as a youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or teacher preferred. Certificates and Licenses: Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid certifications and Ellis lifeguarding certifications required- will provide certification upon hire at no cost. Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
