Job summary

The Town of Oro Valley is seeking a Lifeguard to monitor, supervise and coordinate lifesaving staff, ensuring daily pool operations and safety for patrons and employees. The role includes testing water quality, maintaining pool facilities, and providing outstanding customer service.

Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED, one year of Lifeguard experience, and current ARC Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED certifications; Administering Emergency Oxygen certification due within 90

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• One year experience as a Lifeguard.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED certifications required at time of application.
• Must obtain and maintain ARC Administering Emergency Oxygen within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety of employees and patrons.
• Perform routine water tests and adjust pool chemicals.
• Prepare pool and facility for opening and closing.
• Search for and remove safety hazards.
• Maintain cleanliness of pool and facility.
• Supervise daily activities including scheduling, training, evaluating and motivating staff.
• Maintain records and reports on attendance.
• Operate and maintain pool equipment and pump room.
• Provide customer service and respond to questions or concerns.
• Respond to emergencies with First Aid, CPR and Lifeguard techniques.
• Assist with personnel actions such as selection, promotion, and evaluations.
