Job summary

New Orleans Jewish Community Center is seeking a seasonal Assistant Aquatics Manager to support the Aquatics Department at Uptown and Metairie campuses. You will help lead safe, high‑quality programs and oversee pool operations with professionalism and customer focus.

Responsibilities include safety, staff supervision, training, facility logistics, and teaching LGI classes. The role requires flexibility, teamwork, and strong customer service in a community‑oriented recreation setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in aquatics supervisory, management, or administrative role.
• Demonstrated ability to create competitive aquatics programs.
• Strong customer service leadership and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons at the pools.
• Display an image that focuses on customer service and professionalism.
• Monitor pool chemical balance and maintain records per Model Aquatic Health Code.
• Follow Health and Safety Regulations mandated by OSHA.
• Follow ADA standards and inspect lifts weekly.
• Assist in recruitment, training and supervision of part-time Aquatics staff.
• Assist in precepting new employees as scheduled.
• Develop and deliver aquatics programs to retain and attract members.
• Ensure pool rental management and logistics.
• Teach LGI classes to members and community.
• Provide emergency care when needed.
• Lifeguard as required and participate in in-services.
• Inspect AED/First Aid supplies bi-weekly and report issues.
• Assist with emergencies affecting safety.
