Job summary

The Apex Park and Recreation District is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to support the Aquatics Division across multiple facilities in Colorado. You will plan, coordinate, and execute high-quality swim lesson programming, oversee daily operations, and schedule instructors to ensure safety and learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related experience.
• Current Starfish Instructor certification or equivalent.
• Preferred: 1–3 years of competitive swimming and/or diving experience.
• Certifications in lifeguarding and aquatic operations (e.g., CPR/AED, First Aid, CPO) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement group, private, and adaptive swim lessons.
• Ensure lessons follow Starfish curriculum and maintain quality.
• Monitor class sizes, attendance, and participant progression.
• Oversee instructor schedules and onboarding/training of staff.
• Supervise lifeguards and instructors to ensure safety protocols.
• Assist with staff recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluations.
• Respond to customer inquiries and coordinate program registrations.
