Job summary

University Recreation at UT Dallas is seeking a Coordinator of Aquatics to oversee all aspects of the aquatics program, including training lifeguards and instructors, budgeting, travel planning, risk management and scheduling. You will develop relationships with campus and community partners and implement policies and procedures.

Must obtain CPO, LGIT, and WSIT certifications within 12 months; Texas driver's license within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in developing and operating a recreation program.
• CPR & First Aid certification (or equivalent).
• Preferred: Master's in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Recreation Management, Student Affairs or related field.
• Preferred: 1–3 years aquatics experience in collegiate recreation.
• Current CPO, LGIT, WSIT certifications.
• Current ARC CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor short and long-range planning for aquatic programs and lifeguard training.
• Oversee swimming classes, lessons, and certification courses, including instruction.
• Hire and supervise part-time and student staff, schedule work and evaluate performance.
• Manage pool maintenance and operations for the 6-lane, 187,000-gallon pool.
• Conduct annual instructor and program evaluations.
• Track and report monthly participation data.
• Develop risk management protocols and safety audits.
• Collaborate with campus partners to develop programs and events.
