The City of Pittsburg is recruiting seasonal Recreation Leader III for the Swim Center in the Aquatics Division. The role leads recreation staff, assists with program coordination, and helps ensure safety and success of aquatic programs and events.

Ideal candidates bring lifeguard and pool instruction experience, knowledge of pool operations and safety protocols, and a positive, energetic attitude. This on-site position offers frontline public service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous lifeguard and pool instruction experience.
• Knowledge of pool operations and safety protocols.
• Ability to supervise staff in a fast-paced aquatic environment.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Leadership and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety rules and emergency procedures.
• Conduct inspections for maintenance needs.
• Prepare records and reports on usage for budget and program management.
• Prepare deposits, order supplies, stock snack bar and set prices.
• Develop, manage, and oversee swimming lessons, aquatic programs, rentals, and events.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints.
• Keep records on employee certifications.
• Provide excellent customer service while enforcing rules.
