Job summary

The Regional YMCA Of Western Connecticut is seeking an Assistant Aquatics Director & Camp Aquatic Supervisor for the Greenknoll YMCA in Brookfield, CT. The role requires flexible mornings, days, evenings, and weekend availability to support pool operations and aquatic programming.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating swim lessons, and maintaining safety standards. Compensation includes a $20/hr rate for a 20-hour week, with potential for additional hours in other roles during

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, or 2+ years in aquatics supervision.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Current Lifeguarding: CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Complete Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups in the community.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily pool operations to follow state, local and YMCA safety rules.
• Assist with recruiting, training, scheduling, evaluating, and cert records for staff.
• Coordinate swim lesson programs, class scheduling, staffing, and instructor training.
• Drive YMCA objectives by developing community programs and partnerships.
• Record program statistics and assess participation and effectiveness.
• Support Aquatic Director; cover evening shifts or Lifeguard/Instructor slots as needed.
• Assist with Summer Camp Aquatic supervision or alternative staffing as needed.
