Job summary

City of Hialeah Municipal Government is seeking a Pool Captain to supervise daily aquatic facility operations and staff. The role requires ensuring patron safety, coordinating programs, and maintaining equipment and chemical systems.

The successful candidate will have supervisory experience, a degree in aquatics or related field, and relevant certifications. This is a full‑time on‑site position with the City’s Parks and Recreation facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Aquatics, Recreation Administration, Physical Education, Sports Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Two years of progressively responsible aquatics experience, including at least one year of supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of aquatic facilities.
• Ensure patron safety; perform water rescues and lifeguard functions when required.
• Inspect safety equipment and maintain pool cleanliness and safety.
• Maintain and operate pumps and chemical feed systems; ensure proper chemical levels.
