Job summary

South Suburban Park & Recreation District is seeking an Aquatics Operations Coordinator to lead daily operations for indoor and/or outdoor aquatic facilities. You will manage staff, ensure safety, oversee water quality, and support programming, maintenance, and budgeting.

The role requires an Associate's degree in Recreation Program Management or related field, with experience in aquatics and supervision. A Colorado driver license is required; certifications (CPO/AFO/LGI/WSI) or ability to

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Recreation Program Management or related field.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1 year related Aquatics and Recreation service experience; 2 years preferred.
• Leadership/supervision experience preferred.
• CPO/AFO/LGI/WSI or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certificates required upon hire.
• Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Oversees assigned aquatic facilities and daily operations with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
• Recruits, hires, trains, schedules, and evaluates part-time aquatics staff.
• Monitors staffing levels and coordinates coverage; handles timesheets and payroll issues.
• Ensures water quality, chemical handling, and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinates aquatic programs, rentals, and special events with district partners.
• Assists with aquatics budget preparation and financial documentation.
