Job summary

The Tampa YMCA is seeking a Pool Manager to lead daily pool operations, supervise staff, schedule activities, and ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities include training associates, maintaining certifications, overseeing swim lessons, and delivering engaging aquatic programs. Requires overseeing maintenance and records, and flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or YMCA Lifeguard crossover within 60 days of employment
• YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification or obtain within 60 days of employment
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and/or YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer certifications or obtain within 90 days
• CPO certification or obtain within 60 days
• Flexible Schedule including evenings, weekends

Responsibilities

• Lead manager in the absence of the Aquatic Director
• Develop schedules and approve timesheets as assigned
• Lead and supervise program activities, aquatic camps, and events
• Train and direct associates; evaluate performance and maintain certification records
• Maintain pool chemical levels and health/safety records
• Oversee pool maintenance and daily cleaning of deck areas
• Supervise swim lesson program and report progress to Aquatics Director
• Foster a positive environment for participants, members, and staff
