About British Swim School

At British Swim School, we do not just teach fun swim lessons. We are a team of people serious about saving lives and serious about having fun while doing it. Since 1981, British Swim School has been the pioneer of teaching water survival skills to children as young as three months old and working with swimmers on stroke development after they fall in love with the sport of swimming. We are doing our part to stop drowning from continuing as the leading cause of accidental death in children ages 1-4 yrs.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with business growth and attracting new customers
• Providing the initial training in the BSS swim method and the ongoing development of all our swim teachers
• Using BSS Instructor assessment and development tools/checklists to maintain lesson quality
• Evaluating swim instructor performance and creating performance improvement plans as necessary
• Commute to each of our pools, located in Pottstown and Royersford

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and a passion for our mission of water safety and survival
• Experience with setting and maintaining standards for a service business
• A track record in the world of swimming and fitness teaching/management
• Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years supervisory experience desirable
• A Lifeguard certification – or ability to renew (or this can be provided)
• Fluency in English – and another language is a real bonus!

Compensation: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the “Survival of the Littlest.”
