Job summary

Arvada Aquatics Center is seeking an experienced Aquatics Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance and operation of three indoor pools, three outdoor pools, and two splash pads. Responsibilities include mechanical and chemical system management, routine repairs, and staff training to maintain safe, high-quality facilities.

The role requires knowledge of pool operations, safety procedures, and ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in aquatic facility maintenance and mechanical/chemical operations or similar mechanical systems.
• Must possess a Colorado driver’s license.
• CPR, first aid, and AED certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Pool Operator (CPO) or NRPA Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO) certificate required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical and chemical operations of multiple district pool facilities.
• Perform routine maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on pool equipment (pumps, filters, boilers, chemical controllers, etc.).
• Plan preseason preparation, daily operation, and winterizing of outdoor pools.
• Train aquatics staff in maintenance operations, chemical handling, and safety training.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports; manage inventory and purchases.
• Travel to facilities across the district to support operations and attend meetings.
