Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, and building maintenance.
• Ability to operate and maintain pumps, motors, filters, and related equipment.
• Understanding of safe work practices and procedures.
• Basic recordkeeping and reporting of maintenance activities.
• Good customer service and communication with staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, maintenance and repair to aquatic facilities, including pools, spas, splash pads, buildings, grounds, and related equipment.
• Identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and required repairs of facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems.
• Assist with maintenance and repair of aquatic mechanical systems, including circulation pumps, filters, heaters, chemical feeds, controllers.
• Perform plumbing repairs and assist with piping, pumps, and related equipment.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance, replacement of fixtures, switches, lighting components, and motors.
• Maintain and repair aquatic equipment such as lifeguard stands, lane lines, water play equipment, signage.
• Perform minor carpentry, painting, and masonry repairs.
• Assist with cleaning and upkeep of pool decks, mechanical rooms, and storage areas.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, and City vehicles.
• Assist with inventory, purchasing, and organization of maintenance supplies and chemicals.
• Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Assist with setup/breakdown for aquatic programs and community events.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff, contractors and the public; respond to complaints.
• Respond to emergency maintenance or repair calls as needed.
