Job summary

Life Time Inc. in Columbus, OH, is seeking an Aquatics Lifeguard who prioritizes safety and guest service. You will monitor indoor and outdoor pools, assist with aquatic events, and respond to emergencies with trained first aid and CPR as needed.

You will greet members, enforce pool rules, keep the deck clean, and work as part of a safety-focused team to provide a welcoming, secure environment for all guests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid certifications (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires) within 1st year.
• Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping.
• Ability to tread water for 1 minute.
• Ability to retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from bottom of pool and swim with it to the surface.
• Able to routinely bend to lift more than 20 lbs.

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Lifeguard, you must be safety minded and customer service oriented. You will work in a fast-paced environment and will help to oversee state-of-the-art recreational and lap pools, both indoor and out. You will monitor the pool deck and maintain safety on water slides. You will help with aquatics events, such as "Dive in Movies" & "Poolapalooza."

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with Members
• Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid
• Ensures swimmers are aware of potentially dangerous swim areas and activities
• Keeps the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the Members

Position Requirements

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first)
• Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to tread water for 1 minute
• Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping
• Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs

Preferred Requirements

• 6 months of customer service experience
