Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking an experienced aquatics supervisor to develop and implement high‑quality, member-focused YMCA aquatic programs. You will lead lifeguarding, swim instruction, and safety training while coordinating schedules, budgets, and community partnerships.

You will recruit and guide staff, enforce sanitation and safety standards, and ensure compliance with state and YMCA policies. A strong commitment to youth development and healthy living is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; 2–3 years related experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years related experience; supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
• CPO certification required; preferred before hire or within 90 days of employment.
• Red Cross Lifeguarding certification required; CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises aquatics program activities to meet community needs and YMCA goals.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers; reviews performance.
• Ensures sanitation and safety standards for equipment, pool, and areas.
• Monitors pool operations to comply with regulations and YMCA safety rules.
• Schedules and maintains pool facilities; manages budgets for safety, swim programs, and events.
• Delivers lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid, and CPR training as required.
