Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Montgomery is seeking an Aquatics Director for the Bell Road YMCA, our flagship branch. You will oversee indoor and outdoor pools, develop lessons, supervise staff, and lead aquatic programs while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will serve as LGIT, mentor staff, manage budgets, and support risk management. A BA/related experience and multiple certifications are required, with wage and benefits commensurate with role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years related experience and/or training.
• CPRO/FA Certification and a nationally recognized Pool Operator Certification are required for hire.
• Lifeguard certification, Lifeguard Instructor Certification, Swim instructor certification, First Aid, CPR and AED are required.
• Within 30 days of employment: Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention.

Responsibilities

• Promote, administer and lead in development and implementation of Aquatic programs and services.
• Develops and implements aquatic training programs including swim lesson instructors and lifeguard training.
• Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate all activities for the aquatics programs.
• Develop, implement and monitor Aquatics budgets.
• Inspect and maintain all aquatic facilities and equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends in Aquatics and implement new programs.
• Maintain all pool operations and records to comply with regulations.
• Recruit, hire, train and supervise all full and part-time employees.
• Provide leadership for supervised staff and ensure excellent customer service.
• Serve as Manager on Duty as directed/scheduled.
• Support annual campaign and assist the Executive Director in branch management.
