Job summary

The Hogan Family YMCA is seeking a driven Aquatics Program Director to oversee all aquatic programs at the Madison, AL branch, supervise staff, manage budgets, and design new offerings in alignment with YMCA standards.

You will lead lifeguards and swim instructors, ensure safety and quality, collaborate with the Communications Director, and support fundraising and reporting efforts for the branch. A bachelor's degree and supervisory experience in aquatic programs are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation or equivalent preferred.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience in an aquatic program.
• Proficient in using standard PC software (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to promote the YMCA mission and work with volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee aquatic programs including staff supervision, budgets, and program design.
• Promote the YMCA mission to employees, volunteers, and the community.
• Ensure a safe and positive atmosphere in all areas of responsibility.
• Hire, train, and supervise lifeguards and swim instructors.
• Develop and manage department budgets and equipment needs.
• Support fundraising campaigns and provide data/reports for planning.
