Job summary

Villa Sport Athletic Club and Spa in San Jose, CA seeks an Aquatics Director to lead lifeguards and instructors and manage a large aquatic center with multiple pools and water features. This role hires, trains, and schedules staff, develops budgets and strategic plans, and coordinates a busy programming calendar with supervision from the General Manager.

Qualifications

• Must have up-to-date First Aid/CPR certifications prior to hire.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
• Must be certified as Water Safety Instructor or equivalent; CPR for professional rescuers required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the aquatics team (lifeguards and instructors).
• Run operations of a large indoor/outdoor aquatics center with multiple pools and water features.
• Hire, schedule, and train aquatics staff; develop annual budget and strategic plan.
• Develop the aquatics program calendar; run the department with minimal supervision.
