As an aquatics coordinator, you’ll play a key leadership role in shaping a dynamic pool environment where participants of all ages can grow, learn, and thrive. What You’ll Do
Lead Exceptional Aquatics Programs
- Ensure all aquatic activities are safe, engaging, and aligned with YMCA standards
- Champion water safety through swim testing, education, and community outreach
- Help create a fun, welcoming environment that keeps members coming back
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of lifeguards and aquatics staff
- Build confidence through ongoing in-services and hands‑on coaching
- Lead by example—demonstrating professionalism, vigilance, and teamwork
Ensure Safety & Operational Excellence
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑equipped aquatic facility
- Oversee scheduling, certifications, and essential documentation
- Support emergency preparedness and ensure staff are always rescue‑ready
Be a Community Champion
- Promote aquatics programs and water safety initiatives
- Collaborate with branch leadership and community partners
- Represent the YMCA mission through every interaction

Requirements
Education, Experience, Physical Requirements:
- Team Leader Certification from Y-USA (or be actively working towards)
- Must acquire and maintain certification with the following: Ellis LG & LGI, American Red Cross WSI or WSIT, Vanguard Aquatics Supervisor Training
- Minimum of 3‑5 years of related work experience, supervisory experience preferred
- Must be physically able to teach aquatic lessons and lift an adult male from the pool to the pool deck
- Complete program specific and employee orientation training by required timeline
Pay Range
$18.00 - $20.50 / hour
