Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aquatics Centre Coordinator for a vibrant community facility in Welkom, Free State. The role focuses on managing pool operations, safeguarding users, and maintaining water quality and safety.

You will lead a team of lifeguards and pool attendants, schedule lessons and aqua fitness classes, and oversee the budget and facility upkeep. Applicants should hold Lifeguard and pool operator certifications and possess strong supervisory skills.

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience in aquatic facilities.
• Current Lifeguard certification and pool operator certification are essential.
• Strong knowledge of pool chemistry, filtration, and safety protocols.
• Experience in staff scheduling, training, and supervision.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and control expenses.
• Proactive approach to facility maintenance and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the aquatic centre and related facilities.
• Maintain water quality, cleanliness, and safety standards at all times.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguards and attendants.
• Develop and manage swimming lessons and aqua fitness programs.
• Enforce pool safety rules and emergency procedures.
• Conduct safety inspections and record pool chemistry and maintenance data.
• Manage the centre's budget, staffing, supplies, and maintenance costs.
• Coordinate with maintenance for pool upkeep and repairs.
• Handle patron inquiries and incidents professionally.
• Stay current with industry best practices in aquatics management.
