Job summary

Naval District Washington (NDW) NAF invites applications for a flexible recreation attendant at Dahlgren Aquatics Center. This permanent position supports the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department by assisting patrons and delivering information on programs and facilities.

The role involves cash handling, POS operations, inventory checks, and event setup, with schedule variety including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the MWR department to answer customer questions and refer to the right activity.
• Skilled in keyboarding to operate POS systems and desktop computers.
• Ability to perform basic computer operations.
• Ability to read and comprehend to follow rules and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic custodial tasks (sweeping, mopping, etc.).
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Identify customer needs and deliver expected service or resolve issues.
• Effective oral and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned duties and provides information and support for recreation and fitness programs.
• Provides information concerning facilities and operation.
• Ensures adherence to regulations, safety and security procedures.
• Assists in maintaining routine reports and performs clerical or general maintenance duties.
• Supports program delivery, inventory control, and cash handling with POS operations.
• Greets patrons, answers the phone, takes messages, and refers requests.
• Adheres to sanitation requirements and assists with event setup/breakdown.
