Job summary

Goldfish Swim School in Florida is seeking an energetic Assistant General Manager - Aquatics. This poolside leadership role oversees daily lesson flow, instructor development, and safety for every family visiting our facilities.

You'll coach staff, manage certifications, and ensure on-time, high-quality lessons while upholding our Goldfish standard. Evening and weekend availability is requested; Lifeguard certification is required or to be obtained with us.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in aquatics or youth programming.
• Natural coach who gives feedback early and constructively.
• Comfortable with digital tools and quick to learn new systems.
• Safety-first mindset with ability to lead under pressure.
• Must obtain Lifeguard Certification if not already.

Responsibilities

• Keep swim lessons running on time, on brand, and at high quality.
• Coach instructors on performance evaluation and readiness decisions.
• Use attendance data to spot problems and adjust in real time.
• Review trends and align expectations with staff before shifts.
• Lead new hire training and conduct formal evaluations.
• Maintain staff certifications and safety records.
• Plan skill-based events and quarterly meets.
• Uphold safety culture on the pool deck and EAP training.
• Manage staffing gaps and serve as Manager on Duty when needed.
