Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
• Instruct a swimming program by identifying learning objectives, presenting instructional methodologies, and providing appropriate feedback and stimulation for continuous learning.
• Provide the appropriate instruction for the class being offered.
• Evaluate participants’ progress by assessing degree of improvement.
• Assist participants in determining a course of action to continue to improve swimming skills and level of health and fitness.
• Accurately instruct participants on safe and proper form; make corrections professionally and provide feedback.
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and current attendance records.
• Be knowledgeable of McLeod Clarendon Health and Fitness programs and promote them whenever appropriate.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly exercise environment; return all equipment to the proper storage area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Possess competent knowledge of specific swimming techniques related to all swimming strokes and appropriate teaching methods.
• Possess excellent communication, motivational, and coaching skills.

Certifications / Education

• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school.
• Lifeguard certification or WSI certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
