Job summary

McLeod Health in South Carolina is seeking a PRN Security Officer responsible for maintaining a professional image, high customer service standards, and a safe environment across campus.

You will monitor the loading dock, escort staff, investigate incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff; successful candidates will complete required SLED certifications and health-safety trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• SLED firearms qualification prior to employment.
• Psychological evaluation prior to employment.
• ½ mile run prior to employment.
• Annual SLED firearms certification.
• Valid SC driver’s license.
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Heartsaver within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional image and customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Assist in maintaining a quiet, safe environment at the assigned Campus.
• Ensure the area (post) you are assigned is secure.
• Investigate crime and traffic accidents.
• Provide assistance for patients, visitors and staff as requested.
• Supervise and maintain traffic flow at the loading dock.
• Schedule dock time for special events.
• Maintain log of all vehicles coming into and out of the loading dock daily.
• Provide escort of Administrative staff to designated locations safely and promptly.
• Monitor/review for playback of Health & Fitness Center camera system.

• Assist in maintaining a quiet, safe environment at the assigned Campus.
• Must ensure that the area (post) he/she is assigned is secure.
• Must investigate crime and traffic accidents
• Provide assistance for patients, visitors and staff as requested.
• Specialty duties as assigned
• Supervise and maintain traffic flow at the loading dock
• Schedule dock time for special events
• Maintain log of all vehicles coming into and out of the loading dock on a daily basis
• Provide escort of Administrative staff to designated location in a safe and timely manner.
• Monitor/Review for playback of Health & Fitness Center camera system.

Work Schedule:

PRN, As Needed

Qualifications/Training:

• Must be 21 years of age(SLED Requirement) and be able to complete SLED firearms qualification prior to employment
• Must pass the McLeod Health Psychological Evaluation prior to employment
• Must complete ½ mile run prior to employment
• Must maintain annual SLED firearms certification .

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education

• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school
• Receive security certification/registration from SLED by completion of training (Primary Basic and Primary Plus) within 90 days from hire.
• Must possess a valid SC driver’s license
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of hire
• Heartsaver within 90 days of hire
