Job summary

City of Odessa Parks & Recreation Department seeks a pool and aquatic facilities technician to maintain swimming pools and water management equipment, ensuring safety and compliance under supervision. You will inspect and repair hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, test water chemistry, document logs, and support facility operations.

A Texas driver's license is required, and certification as CPO/AFO must be completed within one year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; plus 1 year of aquatic facility maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of pool maintenance, water treatment, and health and safety standards.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, and manuals for proper operation.
• Texas driver's license required; CPO or AFO within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans and performs equipment maintenance to ensure safe aquatic park operations.
• Inspects mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and plumbing systems; performs repairs.
• Tests water chemistry and maintains sanitization per health standards.
• Maintains facilities, buildings, grounds, and landscape.
• Documents work logs, incidents, and requisitions; prepares reports.
• Operates city vehicles and adheres to safety regulations.
