Job summary

City of Odessa, Texas seeks an Aquatic Facilities Technician to maintain pools and water management systems under supervision. You will inspect facilities, test water quality, and ensure compliance with health and safety rules at City aquatic facilities.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and relevant maintenance experience; CPO/AFO certification is expected within one year. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunities to contribute to park amenities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 1+ year aquatic facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of water quality testing, chlorination, pH balancing, and safety regulations.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing aquatic equipment and related systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints/plans and interpret manuals for proper operation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain swimming pools and water management equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Inspect facilities, equipment, and grounds; perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Test and balance water chemistry to meet health standards.
  • Record daily logs, incidents, and requisitions for supplies.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment following safety procedures.
  • Coordinate with Parks & Recreation staff and respond to issues.
  • Support department operations with regular attendance.
  • Demonstrate courteous interaction with the public and City staff.
