This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Essential Functions
- Ensure programs and services meet community needs by supervising existing activities, establishing new programs, and expanding within the community. Assist in marketing and distributing program information.
- Monitor daily pool operations to adhere to health and safety regulations, conduct proper maintenance, and keep accurate records of chemical levels and maintenance activities.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop diverse staff and volunteers across multiple dimensions of diversity.
- Conduct lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid, and CPR trainings. Ensure staff certification records are current.
- Model relationship-building skills, develop community partnerships, and maintain clear communication.
- Manage program budgets, monitor participation, secure and schedule pool facilities, and organize classes, practices, and meets.
- Assist in developing swim team programs under the direction of the Head Swim Team Coach.
- Support the YMCA Annual Support Campaign and participate in staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Three years of related experience preferred, such as as an aquatics coordinator or supervisor.
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required; PA Pesticide Applicator certification (within three months of hire); CPR, First Aid, AED certifications.
- Completion of YMCA trainings and certifications preferred.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups from all social and economic backgrounds.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Regularly use a computer and communicate via computer and phone; sit, reach, and move around the environment.
- Occasionally lift/move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Moderate noise level; sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions and supervise activities.
- Hear distress signals in the aquatic environment; remain alert and conscious.
- Exposure to outdoor environment and pool chemicals.
Obtain Criminal background check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
