The Jewish Community Center of Staten Island is seeking an energetic Aqua Instructor to lead structured aquatic fitness classes, ensure safety, and motivate participants of all levels in a welcoming environment.

You will plan progressive workouts, demonstrate proper techniques, and adjust sequences to accommodate varying abilities while coordinating with lifeguards and staff to maintain safety and program quality.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of aquatic exercise or willingness to complete required training.
• Strong communication, presentation, and group instruction skills.
• Ability to lead exercise classes confidently and provide clear demonstrations.
• Commitment to participant safety and responsible instruction.
• Motivate and work with individuals of varying fitness levels.
• Dependability, punctuality, organization, and professionalism.
• Ability to follow facility policies and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and lead structured aquatic fitness classes for varying fitness levels.
• Demonstrate exercises with clear verbal instructions and appropriate modifications.
• Ensure safety, monitor participants, and follow emergency procedures.
• Develop class plans, monitor progress, and adapt to equipment and pool conditions.
• Maintain a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and provide constructive feedback.
• Coordinate with lifeguards and aquatic staff to ensure safety coverage.
