Job summary

West Essex YMCA is seeking an energetic aquatic instructor to lead water exercise classes, ensure safety, and motivate participants. You will adapt routines to different fitness levels, track attendance, and stay current with wellness trends.

The role emphasizes strong vocal instruction, excellent communication, and teamwork within a community-oriented program. Part-time hours and benefits apply, with opportunities to contribute to youth and community fitness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications.
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to project instruction clearly during lessons.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging water exercise classes with safe cueing and constant supervision.
• Adapt classes to participants' fitness levels and track progress.
• Maintain attendance records and class documentation.
• Stay updated on Health and Wellness/Aquatics trends and relevant safety procedures.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
