Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA is seeking a Water Fitness Instructor to lead engaging water classes, design progressive exercise plans, and deliver exceptional service to members in a welcoming environment.

You will follow YMCA/USWFA guidelines, monitor attendance, ensure safety, and collaborate with staff to create inclusive programs while maintaining a high standard of care and supervision for all participants.

Qualifications

• Nationally Recognized Water Aerobics Certification required.
• Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire.
• Complete all branch and position trainings within two weeks of hire.
• Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, fun, safe water fitness classes following YMCA/USWFA guidelines.
• Design and conduct progressive exercise plans for participants.
• Monitor attendance and report outcomes.
• Maintain minimum class attendance standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service and foster member connections.
• Collaborate respectfully with staff as part of a team.
• Ensure building, grounds, and equipment are safe and in working order.
• Understand and fulfill mandated reporter requirements for elder/child abuse.
• Ensure safety of children in facilities and programs with proper supervision.
