Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a part-time Group Exercise Instructor to lead energizing aqua fitness and other classes at the North Suburban YMCA location. You will work under the Health and Wellness Director, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all fitness levels.

The role requires 1+ year of experience, current certifications, and a commitment to inclusive programming. Benefits include member perks, scheduling flexibility, and growth opportunities within the YMCA.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in Group Exercise.
• NCCA accredited certification preferred.
• Current certification required for teaching specific formats (e.g., Yoga, Spin).
• Experience in health & wellness programming and group instruction.
• Understanding of marketing/events related to wellness.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe, and educational group classes as directed.
• Answer questions to support members in health goals.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness trends through courses/trainings.
• Build authentic relationships with members and YMCA.
• Adjust approach to accommodate all participants’ abilities and health.
