Job summary

Sherwood Aviation is seeking an experienced APU Technician to join our aerospace maintenance team in New York. You will inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, overhaul, assemble, and test aircraft APUs and related components in accordance with FAA regulations and our quality standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with turbine engines, APUs, or related aviation components in a fast-paced shop, strong mechanical skills, and a commitment to safety and documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in aviation maintenance or related mechanical field preferred.
• FAA Part 145 Repair Station experience preferred.
• Knowledge of aircraft APUs and turbine engines preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and overhauls of APUs and related components.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble APU components per procedures.
• Diagnose mechanical issues to determine repairs or replacements.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and drawings.
• Ensure FAA regulations and company procedures are followed.
• Document all activities accurately in records.
