UAB Medicine is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham.

This role performs PT interventions, documents treatment, and coordinates with aides and students to support patient care in a dynamic rehab setting. We require a PTA degree from an accredited program, Alabama licensure or eligibility, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Formación

• Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Alabama.
• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date.
• Graduate from an accredited PTA program; work experience cannot substitute.

Job Description

Conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.

• Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
• Perform therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population.
• Document treatment interventions given.
• May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Currently licensed, eligible to be licensed or having a temporary license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) according to the rules and regulations of the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy required.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Physical Therapy Program required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
