Summary of Job Duties:

The Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will assist physicians with clinical duties, organize visits, perform procedures, assist in the operating room, answer pages, and round on post-operative patients. They will augment physician capabilities by collecting data, conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and providing direct patient care.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
APRN:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Acute Care Certification
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
  • APRN License
PA:
  • Masters Education
  • PA Licensure
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority
  • Strong communication, reasoning, judgment, problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in ortho surgery or other surgical specialties
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Obtain health history, perform examinations, identify health risks
  • Implement treatment plans, order diagnostics, prescribe treatments
  • Promote health through preventive activities
  • Participate in team conferences and consult with physicians
  • Follow up with patients, perform other duties as assigned
