Job summary

Based in the Internal and Hospital Medicine Department (IHM) at Moffitt Cancer Center, this Rapid Response Team physician assistant or nurse practitioner role supports oncologic and general medicine patient care on the night shift. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a competitive shift differential to compensate for overnight hours.

You will assist physicians with evaluation and management, coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, and document care per medical staff standards;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree at minimum; master's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant program.
• Active Florida medical license (or ability to obtain one) and certification by the appropriate accreditation body.
• Active BLS and ACLS (AHA approved).
• Experience in oncology or internal medicine; hospital or ER setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, coordinating and optimizing patient care.
• Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis.
• Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice.
• May perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice.
• Prescribes oral and IV medications within scope of practice; documents care per medical staff rules.
