Job summary

SD Luxury Motors is seeking an Apprentice Technician for our Service Center in a full-time, on-site role. Hours are Monday–Friday 8am–5pm, with pay ranging from $22.00 to $25.00 hourly based on experience.

You will work with Master Technicians, assist with diagnostics, and participate in manufacturer training to grow your automotive career. Ideal candidates have automotive training or certification, willingness to learn, and a strong attention to detail.

• > Automotive certificate or completion of an automotive technician program is preferred.
• > Prior luxury, exotic, or high-line automotive experience is preferred.
• > Clean background check.
• > Basic knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures.

• > Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• > Analytical thinker with diagnostic problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair orders with efficiency and accuracy per dealership & manufacturer standards.
• Assists technicians with diagnosing causes of malfunctions and performing repairs.
• Communicates with Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts for warranty or requests.
• Examines vehicles with a technician to determine further safety or service needs.

SD LUXURY MOTORS IS SEEKING AN APPRENTICE TECHNICIAN TO JOIN OUR SERVICE CENTER. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm.

We are looking for an honest, hard-working, committed technician with a high attention to detail who is eager to learn and grow in the automotive industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Assists technicians with diagnosing the cause of malfunctions and performing necessary repairs.
• Communicates with the Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts when required for warranty purposes or when requested.
• Examines assigned vehicles with a technician to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with the Service Advisor or assigned technician if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required and as directed by a supervising technician.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins and repair procedures.
• Assists Master Technicians and experienced technicians with repairs and diagnostic procedures.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Ensures that customers' vehicles are kept clean and protected while in the service department.
• Notifies the Service Advisor or supervisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Keeps shop area neat, organized, and clean.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
• Returns tools, equipment, and manuals to their proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA requirements.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Assists Master Technicians and the Shop Foreman as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the service department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Automotive training, education, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
• Automotive certificate or completion of an automotive technician program preferred.
• Prior luxury, exotic, or high-line automotive experience is preferred.
• Clean background check.
• Basic knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures.
• Knowledge of computer diagnostic equipment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Analytical thinker with the ability to understand diagnostic procedures and work through potential solutions to automotive problems.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with Master Technicians, Service Advisors, and other members of the service team.

Pay: $22.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
