Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a motivated entry-level HVAC Technician Apprentice to assist with on-site installation and repair of environmental control systems. You will work with seasoned technicians, learn refrigeration theory, pipe fitting, and blueprint reading, and contribute to safe, efficient field operations.

You will participate in paid instruction and on-the-job training, gaining exposure to customer sites, project teams, and diagnostic processes while building foundational skills for a career

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• No industry experience required; entry is available for motivated learners.
• Safety-sensitive role may require additional drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist seasoned technicians with installation and repair of environmental control systems.
• Apply refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, and structural layouts.
• Service products, equipment, and systems at customer locations.
• Identify, examine, diagnose, and plan equipment repairs.
• Collaborate with field technicians, project managers, and customers on on-site requirements.
• Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work.
• Use tools, blueprints, and engineering specs to diagnose and repair units.
• Maintain high safety standards and secure company assets.

Job description

• Assist seasoned Service Technicians with installation and repair of environmental control systems


• Apply knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, and structural layouts


• Service products, equipment, and systems at customer locations


• Identify, examine, diagnose, and plan equipment repairs


• Work with supervising field technicians, project managers, and customers to understand requirements for on-site installations


• Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work


• Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units


• Enforce high safety standards


• Maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets


• Participate in the Trane Commercial HVAC Technician Apprenticeship Program, including paid instruction and on-the-job training

Requirements

• No industry experience required


• Technical school certificates and/or formal HVAC training/experience are not required but may be considered when determining proficiency level and starting compensation


• Must be at least 18 years of age when starting


• High School Diploma or equivalent required


• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months


• No major or frequent traffic violations in the last 3 years


• Strong desire to learn a trade and directly impact the world around you


• Safety-sensitive role may require additional drug screening
