Huntington Ingalls Industries' Newport News Shipbuilding division is seeking an Apprentice School Instructor (Training Rep 3) to design and deliver training programs for apprentices and shipbuilding personnel. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of exempt experience.
• Master’s Degree with 4 years of exempt/professional experience.
• Equivalency options include Associate's Degree or military paygrade E-5 or higher.
• High School/GED with manufacturing, shipbuilding, or military experience may apply.
• High School/GED with 8 years combined experience in manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military contexts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for instruction for one or more courses, assist with updating lesson plans and syllabi, handouts, visual aids, etc.
• Conduct classes and present material using appropriate instructional strategies and enforce policies.
• Evaluate apprentice progress through assignments and tests.
• Provide extra instruction and retesting opportunities outside normal hours when needed.
• Stay current with developments in teaching areas and methods, including shipbuilding applications.
• Support other areas like pre-apprenticeship instruction and Admissions interviewing.
