Job summary

INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA is seeking a Millwright Mechanical Apprentice at Chocolate Bayou Works in Alvin, TX. You will train with an experienced Maintenance Technician as part of the maintenance team.

This hourly apprenticeship requires a high school diploma or GED and current enrollment in a two-year Industrial Maintenance Technology program or Level II Millwright/Machinist certificate, with at least one semester completed. Safety is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in a two-year AAS in Industrial Maintenance Technology or a Level II Millwright/Machinist certificate; must have completed at least one semester.

Responsibilities

• Complete intern checklist.
• Begin training on initial job assignment (reading manuals and understanding schematics/technical drawings).
• Support other technicians during periods of high workload.
• Monitor normal machinery operating conditions.
• Climb equipment when necessary (towers, drums, reactors, etc.).
• Participate in housekeeping responsibilities.
• Troubleshoot abnormal machinery operations or faults.
• Learn about safety, health and environmental hazards.
• Utilize the work permit system.
• Other duties as assigned.

Organizational Context And Job Purpose

The Millwright Mechanical Apprentice's job purpose is to train with an experienced qualified or journeyman Maintenance Technician while participating as a member of the maintenance team.

Responsibilities And Accountabilities

Primary Responsibilities and Skills:

• Complete intern checklist

Education Requirements:

• Completed at least one semester of study.
