INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA in Alvin, TX is seeking a Millwright Mechanical Apprentice to train with an experienced Maintenance Technician as part of the maintenance team.

This full-time, hourly role focuses on reading schematics, monitoring machinery, learning safety practices, and supporting technicians during peak periods while pursuing an AAS in Industrial Maintenance Technology or a Level II Millwright/Machinist program.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Enrolled in a 2-year AAS in Industrial Maintenance Technology or Level II Millwright/Machinist program.
Completed at least one semester of study.

Responsibilities

Begin training on initial job assignment with manuals and schematics.
Support other technicians during high workload periods.
Monitor normal machinery operating conditions.
Climb equipment when necessary (towers, drums, reactors, etc.).
Troubleshoot abnormal machinery operations or faults.
Learn about safety, health and environmental hazards.
Utilize the work permit system.
Other duties as assigned.

Organizational Context and Job Purpose

The Olefins & Polymers USA division of INEOS is one of the largest producers of olefins and polyolefins in North America. The Millwright Mechanical Apprentice’s job purpose is to train with an experienced qualified or journeyman Maintenance Technician while participating as a member of the maintenance team.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Primary Responsibilities and Skills:

Begin training on initial job assignment (includes reading training manuals and understanding of schematics and technical drawings)
Support other technicians as needed during periods of high workload
Monitor normal machinery operating conditions
Climb equipment when necessary (towers, drums, reactors, etc.)
Troubleshoot abnormal machinery operations or faults
Learn about safety, health and environmental hazards
Utilize the work permit system
Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
Currently enrolled in a two-year AAS in Industrial Maintenance Technology degree program or a Level II Advanced Certificate program in Millwright/Machinist from an accredited institution or college; and
Completed at least one semester of study.
