Our Meat Cutter Apprentices ensure that our guests receive the best and most delicious products, presented according to their requirements. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service and supporting the Meat Lead, you'll ensure that our offerings and services promote guest loyalty, growth, and success for the store. As a member of our Meat Team, your primary responsibility will be to cut meat and other products for sale, ensuring our customers receive the freshest products possible. You’ll create and sustain an exemplary customer service atmosphere to build lifelong relationships by understanding and exceeding customer needs. Job Description
- Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
- Experience Desired: Prior experience in the field or a related field
- Education Desired: No High School diploma required
- Education Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent; Vocational/Technical training
- Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
- Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
Job Responsibilities
- Learn to cut meat for sale by removing products from the cooler and cutting them into smaller sizes for packaging.
- Learn to make ground meat by using a grinder and preparing the meat accordingly.
- Accurately record and assist in preparing special orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist in maintaining the efficiency of the meat cooler and freezer by unloading deliveries.
- Learn all aspects of code dating and ensure proper rotation.
- Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
- Wrap meat products and maintain the meat case.
- Check and rotate code dates on products to ensure safety.
- Provide products and services that meet internal and external customer requirements, adhering to the company's guiding principles and service standards.
- Maintain safety as the top priority in all work aspects, ensuring safety for team members, guests, and products.
- Deliver exemplary customer service by greeting customers, fulfilling their orders, and making suggestions to enhance their shopping experience.
- Share knowledge about food and learn about food safety and handling procedures.
- Learn and adhere to all current work methods and safety guidelines.
- Handle products and equipment properly to ensure food safety and a safe shopping environment.
- Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques to promote products.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, utensils, and work area to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
