Our Meat Cutter Apprentices ensure that our guests receive the best and most delicious products, presented according to their requirements. In addition to providing excellent guest service and supporting the Meat Lead, you'll ensure our offerings promote guest loyalty, growth, and success for the store. As a member of our Meat Team, your primary responsibility will be to cut meat and other products for sale, ensuring our customers receive the freshest products possible. You will create and sustain an exemplary customer service atmosphere to build lifelong relationships by understanding and exceeding customer needs. To succeed in this position, you should be a team player, eager to support your team, driven to grow your career in leadership, and capable of inspiring those around you.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in the field or a related field
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Education Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent; Vocational/Technical
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Learn to cut meat for sale by removing products from the cooler and cutting meat into smaller sizes for packaging.
• Learn to make ground meat by using the grinder and preparing it for sale.
• Accurately record and assist in preparing special orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in maintaining meat cooler and freezer efficiency by unloading deliveries.
• Learn all aspects of code dating to ensure product safety and freshness.
• Follow proper procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Wrap meat products and maintain the meat case for presentation and safety.
• Rotate and check code dates on products to ensure guest safety.
• Provide products and services that meet internal and external customer requirements, adhering to the company's guiding principles and service credo.
• Maintain safety as the top priority in all work aspects for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and ensuring their orders meet expectations. Make suggestions to enhance their shopping experience.
• Share food knowledge with team members and customers, demonstrating a commitment to learning about food.
• Learn and retain current work methods and procedures.
• Handle products and equipment properly, following food safety and safety guidelines.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to promote products.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tools, and work environment to ensure safety and sanitation.
