Job summary

Sonoco is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Technician Apprentice in Forest City, NC. The program runs four years with yearly pay increases after completing On-the-Job Training competencies.

Starting rate is $22.24 per hour with overtime and off-shift opportunities. Education includes an Associates degree/certificate in Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics, with schooling funded by Sonoco under certain conditions.

Qualifications

• Must complete Associates degree/certificate in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics or equivalent.
• Course work must be outside normal working hours with at least 20 hours/week.
• Sonoco will pay for schooling after grants/scholarships; candidate must stay with Sonoco at least 3 years after degree or repay costs.

Sonoco is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Technician Apprentice to join our team in Forest City. Sonoco is a $5 billion global provider of consumer packaging, industrial products and packaging supply chain services. From our headquarters in Hartsville, S.C., and more than 300 operations in 33 countries, we serve customers in 85 nations. Length of Apprenticeship:

4 years with a pay increase yearly after On-the-Job Training competencies have been met and employee is still within good standing.

Education Requirements:

• Must complete Associates degree/certificate in `Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics or equivalent program approved by Sonoco. Must maintain a 3.0 average during schooling or will result in termination of Apprenticeship contract and consideration for available entry level positions.
• Course work must be completed outside normal working hours. Normal working hours will be decided upon by Plant Engineer, On-the-Job Trainer and Apprentice with expectations of at least 20 hours/week.
• Sonoco will pay for 100% of schooling after grants/scholarships. Candidate must stay with Sonoco at least 3 years after degree is obtained or they must pay back cost of schooling.

On the Job Training Requirements:

Candidate must complete all elements of On-the-Job Training within 4 years. Candidate must meet annual goals for competencies to be eligible for pay increases.
