Job summary

Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) seeks an Apprentice Lineman in Delta, Colorado. This full-time, unionized apprenticeship leads toward Journeyman certification, with on-the-job training for overhead and underground systems and on-call coverage across the service territory.

Candidates must have a HS diploma or GED, be enrolled in or a recent graduate of an Electric Line Worker program, and meet safety and physical requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Actively enrolled in or a recent graduate from an accredited Electric Line Worker program.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn safe linework practices.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in all types of weather conditions.
• Physically capable of performing linework duties, including climbing poles and lifting heavy materials.

Responsibilities

• Receives on-the-job training to learn Journeyman Lineman duties.
• Progress through apprenticeship levels through training and evaluation.
• Respond to emergency outages and perform storm restoration.
• Assist with fiber installation and maintenance.
• Re-fuses distribution lines and assists with installation of equipment.
• Communicate progress and issues with team and customers.
• Climb poles and work at heights using safety gear.
