Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution Apprentice Lineperson to assist in constructing and maintaining overhead distribution lines and equipment. The role offers hands-on field training within a utility environment and requires adherence to regional safety guidelines.

The position involves climbing, excavation work, and traveling for storm emergencies, with a competitive hourly pay and a benefits package including health and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• DOT medical card within 90 days of employment.
• Valid Driver's License required; professional driving may be needed.
• Pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check may be required.
• Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.

Responsibilities

• Clears work area and maintains safe jobsite conditions.
• Assists with assembling material and works from the ground to be installed by lineperson.
• Climb wooden poles to perform duties.
• Excavate to assist in installation of structures or cable.
• Communicate work to public and private property owners.
• Participate in regional safety trainings and follow safety policies.
• Operate tools such as digging devices, wrenches, hammers, drills, come-alongs, jack hammer, power tamp and handline.
• Work around energized parts or equipment; wear hearing protection as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisors.

Education

1+ year trade experience or formal training
